Shulgin: MDMA and other goodies
THE STORY OF PHENYL-AMPHETAMINES like XTC and other empathogens that have changed not only the disco-scene, but facilitated a new kind of therapy-work.
Pihkal
Alexander Shulgin is the reinventor and promotor of XTC (MDMA) and many other synthetic drugs and empathogens.

Real experience

some e-mail discussions about the program:
The program is not yet final, and we leave it up to the participants to help us in shaping it. The suggestions by Shulgin and his wife Anne are:
I am prepared to be talking to people whose English
language may not be perfect, and this is no problem, as long as
there is a good translator around. I realize that in Holland,
most people speak very good English, but a translator is always
useful, just in case. I was involved as a therapist for three
years, in the past -- mostly with MDMA when it was still legal --
and am deeply interested in this subject.
Thus lectures or discussions such as:
Maybe one of the two
days could lean towards the plant world, natural sources, ethno-
this and that, techniques of isolation and identification of
active components of psychedelic plants?
And then the second day
might be more towards the history of chemical discovery,
synthesis, relationship between structure and psychedelic
activity, clinical use and potential.
Ann would be happy to add
her thoughts and comments to this, especially in a discussion of
the drug/person interactions that are so important either in
therapy or in personal discovery and spiritual exploration.
This is a note from Ann:
I would be more than happy to give a
lecture, or talk, or -- even better -- answer questions about
psychotherapy with MDMA and other psychedelic drugs, and/or the
use of psychedelics for spiritual growth (however that term is
understood).
